Welcome to this inaugural edition of vCIO Corner. As part of your EpiOn IT support relationship, your company has a dedicated virtual Chief Information Officer (vCIO) who is an advisor to your leadership team. Each month, in the vCIO Corner, we will provide updates on IT security threats, upcoming policy changes, and other IT issues.
This month, we are talking about some important changes coming to how your web browsers store your passwords.
To help protect your passwords, EpiOn has enrolled every user in a password app called LastPass. LastPass integrates natively with your browser to deliver a more secure experience. If you haven’t already set up your LastPass account, contact the EpiOn help desk to request access. LastPass will import your passwords from the browser and then recommend ways to strengthen them. You can read more about LastPass on the EpiOn customer portal here: LastPass Business & Family – Password Vault.
In the coming weeks, EpiOn will be rolling out a new IT management policy that disables browsers from storing passwords. This update will also remove passwords currently stored in these browsers. It’s important that you migrate into LastPass ahead of these changes.
The support team at EpiOn cares deeply about keeping you secure and delivering a great user experience. If you have any questions or problems, please reach out to us at helpdesk@epion.com.
